Fitness Center Summer 2021

THE FITNESS CENTER IS OPENING ON JUNE 1ST. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW IF YOU WISH TO WORKOUT AT THE FITNESS CENTER DURING THE 2021 SUMMER. 

We are pleased to be able to open the Fitness Center for the TCNJ Community during the 2021 Summer In order to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, and meet the reopening requirements for the state of NJ, we will be opening the facility with some restrictions and procedures to keep users safe. These will include, but not limited to, all cardio machines being offline and the wearing of masks at all times while in the facility. The Fitness Center at Campus Town will maintain all restrictions and protocols even though they have been lifted in similar areas across the rest of the state.  This is a decision made in the best interest for the health and safety of our TCNJ community. More detailed information about opening can be found below.

Fitness Center Hours of Operation

BY RESERVATION ONLY (12 users max per time block)

***ALL RESERVATION TIME BLOCKS WILL START ON THE HOUR AND END AT THE 40 MINUTE MARK.

Monday to Thursday:

10:00am –  1:00pm & 2:00pm – 6:00 pm

Closed Fridays – Sundays:

**We will be closed Monday July 5th, and open that Friday July 9th same hours

June 1st – August 12th

Reservations

All TCNJ students, faculty, and staff will be required to reserve a time slot at the Fitness Center in order to workout. All time slots will end 40 minutes after the hour. This means all users must exit the facility at 45 minutes after the hour. Everyone should wind down and complete their workouts around the 40 minute mark and start making their way out of the facility.

In order to track reservations, all TCNJ students, faculty, and staff must download the Atleto app. Below are instructions on how to make a reservation at the Fitness Center:

ATLETO APP

Reservations will be made through the Atleto app. Download the free app via  or 

  • Follow the instructions on your phone

 

Joining Atleto:

  • After downloading the ‘Atleto’ Application, input: First name, Last name, Email, and Preferred Password. Please be sure to utilize your TCNJ email when creating your profile.
  • You will be prompted to add the activities of your interest. Feel free to add as many as you like
  • TCNJ students will automatically be accepted and be able to start making Fitness Center reservations
  • TCNJ Faculty/Staff do not need any additional steps for Summer 2021

However, for Fall 2021 membership, Faculty/Staff will have to complete the following:

  • TCNJ Faculty and Staff only will have to click ‘Groups’. They will then be able to see all the groups at TCNJ.
  • Choose TCNJ Faculty & Staff Fitness Center Fall 2021
  • Click ‘Ask to Join’
  • A Fitness Center Staff member will need to approve your acceptance into the group. Once that is completed, Faulty and Staff will be able to make reservations for the 12-1pm time slot

Once you have made your account (@tcnj.edu) it will be active immediately and you will be able to make a reservation for a zone within the Fitness Center.

  • Log in to your ATLETO account
  • Navigate to the “Me” icon on the bottom right of screen
  • Select “My Bookings”
  • Select “Make a booking”
  • Choose the Fitness Center facility for which you would like to make a reservation
  • You will be able to see all the zones. Select your zone and all available reservation times for the next 48 hours will be visible. (If a reservation time is filled you will notice a red dot next to that time and a message will direct you to choose another time)
  • Choose your reservation and it will be saved into your bookings list in date order.

  • You may sign up for only one reservation per day.
  • You can only make three reservations a week
  • A notification will be sent via a banner on your device 3 hours prior to your reservation to remind you of your scheduled time.
  • You can unregister by choosing ‘Cancel Booking’ (swiping left on your booking) up to an hour before the reservation begins.
  • During your workout a notification will appear 15 minutes prior to the end of your reservation to remind you of the time remaining.

Entry Protocol

Upon arrival to the Fitness Center, you must have your mask on properly covering your mouth and nose and then complete the following to be allowed entry into the facility:

  1. Show your green health pass from the TCNJ ROAR App
  2. Have your temperature taken by Fitness Center Staff
    1. Temperature must be under 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit for admittance
  3. Check into your zone reservation you made on Atleto
  4. Scan the Fitness Center QR Code using the TCNJ ROAR App
  5. Show your TCNJ photo ID to staff worker and self-swipe your TCNJ ID at the front desk card reader
  6. Head straight to your reserved zone
    1. Follow maps, signage, and floor markings for safe entrance, exit, and movement throughout the facility
    2. On your way to your zone, you can grab a set or two of equipment in general areas (dumb bells, medicine ball or kettle bells, curl bars) that you intend to use for your workout and bring to your reserved zone
      1. You cannot leave your zone mid-workout to get additional equipment

Important Reminders

  • Reservations on the Atleto app must be made in advance! If you do not have a reservation, you will not be allowed into the facility
    • Reservations can be made 48 hours in advance
    • Only allowed entry into the facility once a day, max three times a week
  • Locker rooms and Cubbies are CLOSED. You must come to the Fitness Center ready to workout. You will be allowed to keep your belongings/bags with you in your zone.
  • Bathrooms will be limited to hand washing and restroom use only
  • Water bottle filler will be accessible but water fountains will be closed
  • Small, sharable equipment has been taken off the floor and removed from behind front desk
    • Only equipment that can be thoroughly sanitized before and after use by patrons can be used (i.e. – no ropes, mats, bands, etc.)
  • All equipment must be sanitized between uses. No equipment should be used by another customer or returned to the storage rack / container without being sanitized
    • Any equipment borrowed from a general area is to be wiped down by the patron that used it, and left in your zone when workout is completed
  • Patrons are responsible to use the wipes in their zone to completely sanitize all equipment used by them in their reserved zone
  • Offline equipment located in closed areas are not permitted to be used at any time
    • All Cardio equipment is currently offline
  • All existing Fitness Center at Campus Town rules and guidelines remain in effect
  • MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES!
    • NO “Gators” allowed to be worn as masks

When making a reservation on the Atleto app, all TCNJ students, faculty, and staff will be required to register for one of twelve zones. Below are descriptions for each zone and which fitness equipment will be accessible in each zone:

Failure to comply with Fitness Center rules, guidelines, regulations, or the Covid agreement will result in removal from the facility, or entrance will be denied. You will lose facility access, and students could be referred to Condcut based on behavior. Facility access will not be reinstated until you meet with a professional member.
